About Boxwood Pinball:
Boxwood Pinball takes players back in time with non-electronic tabletop wooden pinball machines. Boxwood has the feel and speed of newer pinball machines and adds the strategy and competition of board games with a player versus player approach.
Boxwood is the brainchild of sculptor William Manke and painter Travis Hetman, who met at the Denver Art Society in the Sante Fe arts district of Denver. Once they discovered their shared love of pinball, they quickly identified an opportunity for a collaborative project. Says Manke, “The first machines were crude. More like a box with flippers and some elements of chance thrown inside. Through prototyping and experimentation, we learned how to make the machines sophisticated and fun to play.” Says Hetman, “We wanted the illustrations to be a reflection of our distinctive approach to pinball. To be simple and beautiful while evoking the nostalgia of early pinball and bagatelle machines.”
